Charge on a property (servient land) to another property (dominant land) each of which belongs to a different owner. This charge obliges the owner of the land used in support of the property to comply with certain acts of use (e.g., access to land), to refrain from exercising certain rights (e.g., non-construction servitude) on the property, in favour of the owner of the dominant land. A servitude relates to the property and not to the owner.
